Web 2.0 Generated Content

February 26, 2008 By: admin Category: Internet No Comments →

Whilst browsing the internet I decided i should write about what web 2.0 is all about.

Typically speaking, web 2.0 is about user generated content.  Whats the biggest example of this?  Well, online communties - and in particular free phpbb forum hosting websites such as the one previously linked to.  (Dont worry, we dont link to junk hosts - only decent trusted ones).

Web 2.0 is about sharing, writing, linking to and creating communities.  This can be done through larger web 2.0 sites such as Digg or Stumbleupon.

Be careful - large web 2.0 sites are hard to manage and take a lot of maintanence.

Good luck!

An extremely usefull post from programmingishard.

Great idea. Lots of nice snippets, including shell scripts and optimizations. In their words “Programming is Hard is a public repository for links and code snippets. Easily build up your personal collection of code snippets or links, categorize them with tags / keywords, and share them with the world (or not, you can keep them private!)

Google Analytics - an emarketers biggest tool

December 03, 2007 By: admin Category: Internet, eMarketing No Comments →

Any decent emarketer should be using Google Analytics as a form of tracking on their website to investigate visitor behaviour, what promotional methods are working and what isnt. With the positive review of Google Analytics by some search engine consultants, you should definately consider Google Adsense as a free utility to find your biggest fault, or success in the way you have built your website.
